Bought democracy

Bought democracy

Wood – 5 Jamadil Awal 1430 / 30 April 2009.

“..the 20th century has been characterized by three developments of great political importance: The growth of democracy, the growth of corporate power, and the growth of corporate propaganda as a means of protecting corporate power against democracy.” Alex Carey

There is no better way to express the current state of our democratic country as Alex Carey did. Democracy that the ruling entity that we had entrusted to govern us had failed us unquestionably and leave our future generation with nothing but tainted hopes and false promises. Without doubt, if the government still in their hand for the next few years, indeed this country is doomed.

Democracy
One has to understand the simple concept of democracy before turning into the belief and cast a vote into the system. It is base on the concept that all three power of judicative, legislative and executive coexist in a sustainable environment where no one is on top or at the bottom to the others.

All three are equally position to provide the check and balance to one another and prevent abuse, favouritism, and cronyism; as such the sustainable environment would be preserved. However, problem begins in 1987 when both legislative and judicative lost it position to the executive in power.

Starting from that point of time, the only democracy left in this country is in history book; the rest is known as Mahathirism. That is the price that this beloved country had to pay when the majority elected tyrannic to execute democracy. He changed our democracy quite instantaneously to plutocracy where only small group of wealthy people actually rule the country.

They put it on sale
When judicative combined with legislative corrected executive back in 1987 for its misuse of power and treachery, the executive responded by eliminating the power of judicative and legislative. The few heads of judicative personnel were removed from their position and replaced with monkeys. The monarchs tried to intervene but were effectively silenced by 1993.

The executive then begin to aggressively put our democracy on sale to the same people that elected them earlier. They create malicious propaganda that they are needed to run the government. Having been the only “trusted” entity to govern thus far, they proclaimed that without them the country would be in complete chaos.

Failure to elect them would result in race/religion riot, civil war, lost of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), no jobs, poverty, no house to live in, no food to eat, increase crime rate and every other bad thing that currently happen in Zimbabwe, Somalia and Nigeria.

But if they were elected, our country will be prosperous even during global economic meltdown, country is at peace, no poverty (despite TV3 Bersamamu program), public transportation will be improved (my ass), oil will be subsidised even at USD40/barrel (who is subsidising who at RM1.80/liter), transparency(direct award to wife, son, daughter, in laws, uncle, auntie) and every other good things that will only happen if you live in UTOPIA land; they will make it happen.

Communicating the propagandas
These propagandas were dangled and sold to our earlier generation since independence till these days. Sadly not many of us have the time, wisdom and mind to actually see through the propaganda barrier that all those are nothing but lies. Created to ensure that the people will continuously live in fear and planted belief that they will always be there to uphold the justice.

All of the propagandas were created and communicated to the people through various government controlled medium such as broadcast companies, newspaper, education system and government divisions who shamelessly spread the propagandas in return of power, money, position and personal interest. Any attempt to provide alternative or truthful information will be silenced immediately.

The efforts were so intense to the point they manage to embed the belief rooted in the people’s mind such that subconsciously they brain will conclude that resistance is futile.

People believe only what they heard
To no surprised for the pass 50 years majority of us actually bought the propagandas sold to us. We were promised peace and sustainable life so that they can have a great life and everlasting wealth to last their life and a few generations to follow.

Somehow, majority of us believe that it is okay to earn RM2500/month and yet has to pay for a RM45,000 “local” made car for 10 years. To pay RM150,000 low quality house for 30 years. To pay RM1.80 for a liter of petrol. To pay RM80 for 4 liters of engine oil. To pay RM2.20/kg for super low quality rice. To pay RM1.40/kg for sugar. To pay tol everywhere we drive. To pay high land and house taxes. To pay for high electric and water tariff.

This simple majority also believe that it is okay for them to be given “something upfront” even for project meant for the people. To drive luxury car and own a few empty bungalows and mansion. To run a few companies while holding a political position and make tonnes of money from it. To use our money for their personal expenses. Simply because these people claimed they can sustain peace and “sustainable” life for us.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?

It is completely unacceptable to me. As such today on this day, I solemnly declare; that my fight has begun and I will not rest until this corrupt government brought down to its knees, slay its head off and buried six feet under; forever. Who among you brave enough to join me?

Point of no return
The problem begins when they passed the point of no return sometime in the mid of 1980s. They had compiled too many records of power abuse, corruption and crime; to the point that they must maintain the status quo as the elected government. Failure is never to be considered.

Failing to do so, they knew that the new government will open the Pandora box and all hell will break loose. Their pure raw greed and evil soul will be shred open from their fat belly and rotten chest so that people will know the truth. People will now know and people want change

That is why we can see too many occasions where the need to hold on to the power precedes what is right to the people. Blatant disregard of the same law that they “uphold” continuously happen before our very own eye to prevent any attempt to dislodge them from the throne.

ISA, OSA or whatever they want to call it, to me it is just a simple excuses this unscrupulous bunch use to hold on to power: but for how long?

The bought democracy
The current government is obviously the government from the people, by the people but unfortunately never meant for the people.

So far it serves the rich only. They treat democracy as a family business. Due to when they are in power, surely there is money to be managed and distributed. Money from federal will be channel to the political party head honchos instead of the one actually in charge; where is the logic on that?

The hard solid fact; they sold it and majority of us actually bought it. Sad.
