IF

IF

Wood – 19 Rabiulakhir 1430 / 15 April 2009.

Much had been said to Pekan’s new cabinet line up. From good, to moderate, to bad; you name it and you got it. From backbenchers, oppositions, old dog of Kubang Pasu, people like you and me; you name it you got it.

However, what most people failed to highlight since the announcement was the opportunity given to Pekan to recapture the confidence of Malaysian and Pekan failure to deliver a severe blow to PR bronze armour that a major chink could be inflected. A chink so big that not evens the Spartan would be able to stop the next wave of assault from BN, as if it is necessary.

A blow so severe, that it will cut short Pagoh plan of 2 years to regain the people confidence, to a mere 1 day. So shocking that it will send PR leaders scrambling for answers and realignment of strategy not knowing that end is near.

While PR trying to find the answer; half of the PR supporter will already changed camp to BN. By the time PR finally got the “answer”, there is a gravestone with PR name on it. Ready to be buried and written in history book as a fail; period.

Opportunity Given

Pekan has been a spoon fed politician since cradle hood. From MP, MB, Youth Leader, DPM and PM unopposed, Pekan expects to be guided yet again when “leading” the country this time around. People expecting a change when Pekan announces the new cabinet line up, but the people were presented with nothing but arrogance and stupidity at its best.

“In this difficult time, we need some one with undisputed credential to revive our economy and put our beloved country back to the point in time where Malaysia was respected and regarded as one of the leading dragon in Asia. It is indeed a tall order for anyone to achieve, but we have no doubt that he possesses a knowledge and vision almost unmatched by anybody just to do that.  For that, we would appoint Gua Musang as Finance Minister.

From independent until 2008, BN is the only coalition that manages to pull all races in Malaysia regardless of belief, background and everything else to be united as one nation. But on March 8 2008, one person goes one step further ahead than BN. He did so by uniting people from different races, belief, political agenda and all that BN misses out earlier. For this, we would like to name Permatang Pauh as a minister in Prime Minister Department for unity.

This country also needs someone with an exceptional knowledge in Islam. Someone I know who will not hesitate to correct even me when I am wrong. A person so steadfast that no amount of force in this world can move him from where he stands once he knows he is right. For that we would appoint Chempaka as a minister in Prime Minister Department as Advisory of Religious Matter.”

Opportunity Lost

If the above was part of Pekan speech when he announced his cabinet last week, PR could have been history by now. But in BN, arrogance precedes everything else. So much with the “People first, performance now” when what really matter to BN is “My pocket first, every other things later”.

BN actually put a lot of thought in this.  It must have been discussed to a certain depth and detail by their tactician. But as always arrogance always precedes the truth in BN. Now BN was left with a mountain to climb to reclaim the confidence of Malaysian.

One good tip from an old dog of Kubang Pasu that I learned, lost confidence is just like a lost trust, it is not that easy to get it back.

Gua Musang raised the “question of confidence” so well during his speech in ASLI that I personally thought that BN will take that burning desire and inspiration to actually change. Gua Musang speech was so inspired that I felt that he can actually save the party from self-inflict murder. But I was wrong, we were wrong. Dead wrong.

History will write it as “Opportunity Lost”.

Devastating result

Permatang Pauh can see the possibility of it coming since PAS already talked about it even before Pekan take the helm. All he can do is pray that it won’t happen, and that was what exactly happened; nothing.

Had Pekan take that approach, Permatang Pauh will be in a loose-loose position. If he accepts it, he will be nothing but a pawn in Pekan cabinet; powerless and bullied. If he rejects it, people will lose confidence in him and his coalition.

Chempaka will definitely rejects it. Any coalition with BN will never be possible to Chempaka. Not after what BN did to PAS in the 1970’s. Use them when in desperation, and tossed them when no longer needed.

Only IF.

The Smart One

PAS always has been the smart one. The top gun of PAS is preparing with all of the possibilities that might come from BN corrupted and diseased mind. They cannot take any chances, BN might think of it or it never cross their mind.

They knew that if Pekan will offer the position to Chempaka, Chempaka would definitely turn it down. This would make PAS to be uncooperative to the eyes of Malaysian. As such, PAS top gun launch the first strike and suggest the “Kerajaan Campuran” to BN without Chempaka knowing the real motive. Chempaka made a few noise but the PAS top guns hold their nerve.

BN was caught off guard and as always, BN cannot agrees with opposition even though it will benefit them. After a long discussion, BN decided not to pursue their “plan” to appoint Permatang Pauh and Chempaka. Instead, they select a looser from Penang and some Mejar from ” I don’t where before”. As always arrogance precedes everything.

PAS escape and PKR benefitted from it as well. The later meeting between Chempaka and PAS top guns was to brief Chempaka why they planned as such. Case closed.

The moron

Who else if not BN. They should have just offered the post to both Chempaka and Permatang Pauh. Either way they will win. PR will be buried, or they can toy with both Permatang Pauh and Chempaka. But they chose not to due to pure arrogance.

My final word to this twisted conspiracy theory of mine; BN never really did think of it until PAS raised the “Kerajaan Campuran” thing. To that I sincerely know so that BN is a moron and still is a pathetic moron for the next few years to come. Don’t you think?

Mejoh.

My fight has just begun.
